Chuck Redd dedicates his 11th annual spring concert to his mentors and colleagues: guitarist Charlie Byrd (1925-99) whose trio he joined as a young professional, trumpeter and composer Dizzy Gillespie (1917-93) with whom he toured in Africa (and shared many a Thanksgiving dinner), pianist Monty Alexander (1944), vibraphonists Terry Gibbs (1924) and Milt Jackson (1923-99) both of whom he toured with over the years, and drummer Shelley Manne (1920-84). He is joined by Siri Vik (vocals), Randy Porter (piano), Patrick Golocnik (bass) and Jason Palmer (drums).
